However, the High Court had clearly instructed that counseling and submission of documents should start by January 5. Verification must be completed by April 5. The merit list has to be published by May 10. The High Court has directed to complete the entire process by July 31. The commission has started that process.

It may be mentioned that the West Bengal School Service Commission has issued a new notification for the appointment of upper primary teachers as directed by the High Court. The online verification process for the recruitment of upper primary teachers started on January 4 and ended on January 22. It is learned that about 2 lakh 28 thousand candidates were considered eligible to apply for document verification. However, after the application process was over, not all the candidates applied in the verification process. About 1 lakh 30 thousand applications have been submitted.
